Château Golan Cabernet Sauvignon 2022
Background and Winery
Château Golan Winery was established in 1999 in the Golan Heights region, in Moshav Eliad.
The winery’s vineyards are planted in the Golan area at a considerable elevation above sea level, on volcanic basalt soil — conditions that contribute to producing complex wines.
Variety, Vintage, and Production
This wine is a Cabernet Sauvignon from the 2022 vintage.
According to one source, the grape composition is: 96% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2% Touriga Nacional, 1% Syrah, and 1% Petit Verdot.
Winemaking
The grapes were hand-harvested from the winery’s own vineyards.
After fermentation, the wines were aged separately in French and American oak barrels for about a year, followed by blending and bottling.
Tasting Profile and Serving
Body: Full-bodied, with structured tannins and a rich finish.
Aroma: Black and red berries, wild fruits, gentle spice, and oak notes.
Serving Temperature: Best served at around 16–18°C.
Particularly suitable for refined dishes — not only grilled meats, though it certainly pairs beautifully with those as well.
